Junior Ladies Football V's Christ the King

In our final group game, KCS faced Christ the King, in blustery conditions in Dunderrow on Monday the 11th of December. KCS started strong with two unanswered points, one from a Caoimhe Foley free and Catherine Murphy from play. KCS found it difficult to put scores on the board for the next fifteen minutes while in the other end, Christ the King scored two points from play. After some great defending from Caoimhe O Donnell at Centre back, the ball was transitioned to the forwards with the help of Hannah Deasy and Aine Ni Chearnaigh in Mid-Field. Emma Jones won a kick out after an unsuccessful KCS attack an laid the ball off to Caoimhe Foley who won a free. Caoimhe converted the free and this followed with four unanswered points from KCS before the break. After many missed chances, a determined Catherine Murphy found the net before the half time whistle blew.

Half time substitute Charlotte Kiely made a big impact and helped KCS to their scoring spree in the second half. Caoimhe Foley was instrumental at Centre Forward with Croiona Murphy and Katie Crowley also registering on the score sheet. Christ the King looked threatening up front but credit to the KCS full back line of Sarah Galvin, Anna Kelleher and Kate Carmody who denied them a goal on numerous occasions. The girls worked extremely well in the second half and developed some beautiful passages of play throughout. Christ the King scored three points in the second half overall and substitute Emma Mac Sweeney finished off KCS scoring tally with a superb goal. The girls have now topped their group and are waiting to hear who they will play in the next round. Well done girls!
