KCS U17s through to Munster Hurling Final

KCS 4.20 St. Josephs Borrisoleigh 1.11

Our U17 hurlers made the lengthy trip to Fethard on Tuesday 21st to take on St Josephs Borrisoleigh in the Munster B Hurling Semi Final. The opposition started brightly taking a 2 points to nil lead after 4 minutes but KCS battled back and took the lead, 3 points to 2 thanks to some magnificent scoring from Eoghan O'Shea. Kinsale began to get a grip on the game and were in control until a goal from St Josephs corner forward but Kinsale responded well  with the following three points, one coming from a great run by Ronan Sheehan. Half time score: 0.13 to 1.6 to KCS.

The second half belonged to KCS with Leo Hennessy playing an instrumental part, despite now playing against the breeze. Our defence laid countless platforms for the attack to excel. Dean Cosgrave, Darragh Winters and Donnacha Deasy to name a few, who showed fantastic skill and determination to come out with the ball and feed their forwards. Cillian Fitzpatrick was also proving to be very hard for Borrisoleigh to mark, by scoring a superb 2.2 from play with all scores bring classy finishes. The game was sealed as a contest thanks to 2 late goals from Eoghan O' Sea, who was also excellent on free duty throughout the game, and by Sean Byrne.

We now march onto the Final which may well be set for  an early December date. Well done to all players involved and coaches Mr Madigan and Mr Torpey.
