Visit to Cork Colleges of Further Education and Training Open Days.

Senior Students attended Cork Colleges of Further Education and Training Open Days. They visited the Tramore Road Campus, Morrisons’s Island Campus and Douglas Street Campus.

Students were able to see at first hand a range of facilities, student supports, courses and programmes and they also had the opportunity to meet both students and staff directly involved in these Colleges.

Courses are designed to ensure to meet the developing and evolving requirements of learners in today’s world. Our visit highlighted that we are fortunate here in Cork to have a broad range of courses available to provide “a pathway for every learner”.

Each College highlighted the required disciplines, preparation to enter the world of work and indeed the opportunities to progress to further studies.

  • Apprenticeships

Our Fifth year LCA students are currently preparing their Career Investigation as part of their Leaving Certificate assessment and this day provided a vital component in their Research for this Task. It also allows students to focus on identifying Career areas in a meaningful way as they explore different pathways that are available.

Students finished off the day by checking out the Sports facilities on the Tramore Road Campus.

Many thanks to Ms. Anne Kelly, Ms. Amy Harrington and Mr. Diarmuid Fahy for facilitating the event and bringing the students to the Open Day.
