First Year Walk Organised By Meitheal Leaders

1A1 really enjoyed their walk last Friday organised by their Meitheal Leader, Ailis Murphy (5th Year). They really enjoyed getting out on a lovely, sunny day. Meitheal is a group of 5th Year pupils, selected and trained to support the first year students and help them settle in and get to know one another. Each first year group has been assigned to a fifth year, Meitheal leader. The Meitheal leaders organise a variety of events for their group and meet them on a regular basis to check in with them. They focus especially on First Years and help them to feel welcome and settled in the school. They also respond to other needs identified by either pupils or teachers. Meitheal gives students an opportunity to grow in awareness of themselves, and in the needs of others.
