Success for KCS Senior Hurlers
On Thursday the 13th of October, Senior hurlers travelled to Dungarvan for the first game of their Munster Championship campaign against Dungarvan CBS.
Kinsale started on the front foot with Daniel O'Donovan getting the opening score for Kinsale. It was a great overall first half performance with scores from Gearoid Kearney, David Looney and a spectacular 5-2 from Noah Ryan giving Kinsale a strong lead. Great defending from Kris O Callaghan, Cillian Lordan and the rest of the KCS defence kept the Dungarvan side goalless in the first half. Daniel added to his tally with another goal to make it 6-6 to 0-6 going into half time.
Dungarvan started fast in the second half but good defending from Riordan Stewart, Jason Russell and good saves from keeper Adam Harte kept the KCS lead intact. Kinsale finished the game strong with points from Conor Crowley, Leo Hennessy and Max Cronin. Daniel O Donovan completed the scoring with a long-range free bouncing into the net to seal the win for Kinsale.
The final score was 8-11 to 3-13. It was a fantastic win for the KCS boys.
