On Thursday the 16th of December, Transition Year students, Grace Plunkett and Molly Riese Collins, organised a fantastic swap shop for first year students as part of their Young Environmentalist project. Their project is called ‘Full Circle Fashion’. They have raised awareness around the school community about fast fashion and its impact on the environment. A huge amount of work went into the organisation of this event. Last week, Molly and Grace informed the first years about the event and asked them to bring in items such as clothes, books, toys and puzzles over the course of the week. They gathered the items from the first years and washed and dried all the items beforehand. First Year students brought in a range of unwanted items and got the opportunity to take an item instead. All the items that were left over will be donated to a second hand shop. This event was a huge success and best of luck to the girls in the Young Environmentalist Competition.
