Developing Investigation skills in the Science COVID-19 Classroom

Science teachers from Kinsale Community School have been involved in a virtual community of practice over the last 8 weeks with science teachers from schools around Ireland. We shared ideas of how we are supporting students to develop their investigation skills in a safe manner both in the lab and in your kitchens at home. A big thank you to all of you at home for enabling these kitchen chemistry practicals to take place. Using Microsoft Teams classroom notebook science has been coming from your homes to our classrooms.  From these sessions Kinsale teachers have contributed to a series of Junior Cycle podcasts entitled “Science Snippets” and have presented at Teachmeets on Science during a pandemic. These events will further our learning and enable us to continue to support your children in their practical science education.
