Amber Flag for KCS

The Amber Flag committee has been working hard all year to promote positive mental health in Kinsale Community School. At the beginning of the year we were required to choose four goals which would promote positive mental health in the school. Our goals were: To set up a meditation group for students and staff, to invite a guest speaker to speak to students about the importance of positive mental health, to hold a mental health awareness day in school and to hold a sports day for first year students to raise money for Pieta House. Having completed all of these goals and more we submitted our application to Pieta House and in April we were delighted to receive the good news that we had been awarded an Amber Flag showing that Kinsale Community School is positive mental health aware.
