Munster U16.5 Munster Championship Update

Kinsale Community School 2-19 Boherbue: 0-11

Kinsale played the second round of their Munster under 16.5 football championship after beating Kenmare in the first round. Boherbue were their opponents for the second round.

Boherbue opened the scoring through a well worked point. Kinsale responded extremely well scoring 1 goal and 5 points without reply - the points coming from Luke Farley, Noah Ryan, Liam Kirwin and Ronan Sheehan. Noah scored a brilliant goal. Boherbue came back with 3 points and were very unlucky not to get a goal. Niall Corrigan pulled off a brilliant save. Kinsale fought hard in the backline and around the middle of the field with Adam Harte, Darragh Winters and Patrick Cronin putting in strong performances. They set up 5 points without reply. Before the break Boherbue scored a point. Half time score was 1 -10 to 5 points.

Kinsale started strong in the second half with a wonder point from Leo Hennessy followed by a point from Boherbue. Kinsale maintained their lead with another 4 scores without reply. These were scored by Leo, Ronan and Dean Cosgrove. Boherbue never gave up scoring 2 more points and kept up with Kinsale going point for point for about 5 minutes with two scores from each side. The game was sealed with 10 minutes remaining when Cillian Fitzpatrick scored a goal followed by 2 points from Noah Ryan which topped off a great 2-18 to 0-11 win for Kinsale.
