1st Year Ladies Football Success

On Monday, the 14th of November, the first year girls lined out against Sacred Heart Secondary School Clonakilty in Ahamilla GAA Grounds. The KCS girls got off to a great start by winning the toss, playing left to right. There was a strong wind blowing in Scared Heart’s favour, however the girls did not let it get the better of them.

The girls got off to an excellent start scoring 3-5 at half time against the wind. There were great scores from Emily Baroletti, Katie Crowley and Caoimhe Foley. The half time score was 3-5 to 1-4. There was also spectacular defending from full backs Kathy Walsh, Hannah Deasy and Aoife Napier.

The girls were on fire in the second half. Caoimhe Foley was the player of the match scoring a mighty 2-8. Katie Crowley was also exceptional scoring 1-3. Sacred Heart were nearing a comeback but could not get past the KCS defence, with a final score of 6-15 to 4-6.

The girls are looking forward to their next day out wearing the KCS jersey.
