Success for KCS U15 Footballers

On Tuesday, the 11th of October, KCS played defending champions Castleisland in Mallow in the Munster Championship Quarter Final, with the hope of continuing their wonderful journey in Munster.

It was a dull start to the game with both teams defending well. The first score of the match came from Louis Keohane after five minutes. Shortly afterwards, Castleisland scored a goal. Kinsale reacted very well to this as they worked the ball up the field and scored an excellent point coming off the boot of Cillian Fitzgerald. Kinsale defence played brilliant with Darragh Winters and David Forde bursting out of defence setting up vital attacks on the other side of the pitch. Kinsale dominated the rest of the half with three points coming from Aaron Keane, John Quinn and Louis Keohane to Castleisland's single point. Half time score 1-1 to 0-5.

Kinsale showed great skill and determination in the 2nd half. Louis popped over his third point of the day before Josh Lehane broke through the centre laying the ball off to Oliver Buckley who finished the ball brilliantly to the back of the net. Castleisland fought hard to find a way back into the game but Kinsale were far to strong overturning ball after ball with serious work-rate from Oscar Ryan making great runs up the pitch. Liam added to the score line with two points in quick succession and Aaron with another. Castleisland scored a goal and two points which were responded with two pointed frees coming from Oliver Buckley. It was a great win for Kinsale, with a final score line of 1-11 to 2-3.
