TY Students Shine at First Cut Film Festival

On Thursday, 6th March, our Transition Year students had the exciting opportunity to attend the First Cut Youth Film Festival in Youghal. This festival, which celebrates young filmmakers from across Ireland, was a fantastic chance for our students to see their hard work come to life on the big screen.

Back in October, the students took part in a filmmaking project, where they planned, filmed, and edited their own short films. At the festival, they had the chance to watch these films alongside other student-created works from schools across the county. Seeing their own films on the big screen was a proud and rewarding moment for everyone involved.

The highlight of the day came when our students were awarded Best Youth Film—a huge achievement and recognition of their creativity and effort. This award is a testament to their dedication and storytelling skills, as well as the guidance and support they received throughout the filmmaking process.

Congratulations to all the students involved! We look forward to seeing more incredible work from our young filmmakers in the future.
