KCS excel at West Cork Enterprise Competition
The West Cork Regional Final of the Student Enterprise Competition took place at the Celtic Ross Hotel, Rosscarbery, on the 4th of March. Kinsale Community School was proudly represented by three innovative and hardworking teams: Atlantic Sea Salt Hairspray: Conan O’Brien & Brendan Cunney; Recycling Bottle Banks: Leon Griffin, Sean O'Driscoll, Stephen Linehan, Thomas O'Donovan & Aaron Lee and Pawfect Treats: Eliana Hosford & Thea Tobin.
In preparation for the event, the students dedicated weeks to crafting detailed business reports, setting up engaging exhibition stands, and preparing for rigorous interviews with a panel of three judges. Each team showcased their unique business ideas, identified their target markets, and provided insights into their cash flow statements and sales performance to date.
These three mini enterprises should be incredibly proud of their outstanding performances. Their dedication, creativity, and commitment have demonstrated how hardwork and enthusiasm can transform a simple idea into a viable business.
A special congratulations to the overall winners, Eliana Hosford and Thea Tobin with their project, Pawfect Treats, a line of natural dog treats. Their remarkable efforts and innovative business model have earned them the opportunity to represent the West Cork region at the National Enterprise Final in Mullingar on the 8th of May.
A huge well done to all involved, including Caitriona Leahy and Máire Fleming, for their guidance and support. We wish Eliana and Thea the very best of luck in the National Final – we are confident they will do Kinsale Community School proud!
