Gaelbhratach Representative visits KCS

Lá gnóthach beomhar ar an 8ú lá de mhí Feabhra a bhí ag an gcoiste Gaelbhratach. Tháinig ionadaí ón ngaelbhratach chun na scoil chun taifead a dhéanamh orainn. Lá lán de himeachtaí spraoiúla a bhí ann. Go luath ar maidin, tháinig na hiondaithe chun tús spreagúil a chuir leis an lá. Thosaíomar an lá le rince Gaelach agus céilí le ceol ó bhanna traidisiúnta na scoile eagratha ag Iníon Kearney agus Iníon Brennan. Bhí an-chleachtadh déanta againn chun na céimeanna a fhoghlaim agus iad a bheith beagnach foirfe againn. Bhí dorchla G maisithe againn le postaeir deartha  agus fógraí ag an roinn Ealaíne na scoile agus bratacha chun bród na Gaeilge a léiriú do na cuairteoirí. Thóg an coiste na cuairteoirí ar turas timpeall na scoile go dtí an veain caifé. Ar an slí bhí podcraoladh á dhéanamh ag baill an choiste. Bhí ‘Comhrá agus Cupán’ ar siúl ag an veain Caifé agus bhí cupá tae, caifé, seacláid te agus cácaí ar fail do gach duine a bhí páirteach sa chéilí. Tar éis comhrá agus cupán bhí ar ochtar dalta ón gcoiste, iar-dhalta Eve Casey agus iníon Ní Airséir agallamh a dhéannamh le na cuairteoirí. Ansin bhí orainn slán a rá leis na hionadaithe ón gaelbhratach agus deireadh a chur  leis  an lá álainn a bhí againn.

The gaelbhratach committee had a busy day on the 8th of February. A representative from the gaelbhratach came to the school to record us. It was a fun day full of activities. Early in the morning, the representatives  arrived. We started the day with an irish dance and a céilí that was played by the school traditional band organized by Ms Kearney and Ms Brennan. We had practiced the steps to the dances the week before to be perfect on the day! The G corridor was decorated with bright posters by the art department and flags were hung to display how proud we were of our Gaeilge to the visitors. The committee took the visitors on a tour around the school and to the coffee truck. On the way there was a podcast being done by a couple of our members. Chats and coffee were had at the coffee truck and everyone enjoyed a coffee, tea, hot chocolate and cakes. After the coffee truck, 8 committee members completed an interview in irish including past student Eve Casey and Ms. Archer. We then said goodbye to the representatives and we ended a brilliant day.
