Kinsale Community School Named Finalist for Tech Industry Alliance Leaders Awards

Kinsale Community School is thrilled to announce that it has been named a finalist for the prestigious Tech Industry Alliance Excellence in Education Award. This recognition comes as a testament to our dedication to excellence in technology education and our unwavering commitment to nurturing the next generation of innovators.

A Celebration of Excellence and Innovation

The Tech Industry Alliance Leaders Awards have a longstanding tradition of honouring those who have made exceptional contributions to the technology sector in the South West region of Ireland. This recognition is not limited to global multinationals or thriving startups; it extends to educational institutions that have demonstrated outstanding achievements in the use of technology in their programs. This year's theme, "Leaders of Excellence & Innovation," aims to celebrate the exceptional talent, dedication, and innovation that characterise the South West's tech community.

The Excellence in Education award, which we are finalists for, carries a significant incentive. The winner of this award will receive €5,000, generously sponsored by Trend Micro. This substantial prize would be used to promote STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) activities within our school, benefiting both teachers and students alike.

In response to being shortlisted from an unprecedented number of nominations, Gemma Cooper, Mathematics and Computer Science Teacher, at KCS said, "This highlights the unwavering dedication of our entire school community in nurturing the IT skills of both students and teachers, fostering a culture of championing STEM activities within our school. Our consistent efforts have revolved around equipping our students with the essential skills for the 21st century that enable them to reach their full potential. This recognition from the Tech Industry Alliance reaffirms our resolute commitment to excellence in technology education."

Tech Industry Alliance (TIA): A Catalyst for Tech Growth

The Tech Industry Alliance (TIA) is a dynamic network of more than 250 ambitious tech-producing and tech-enabled businesses. TIA provides a supportive platform where people, ideas, and enterprises can thrive. It's not just about individual success but about creating an interconnected environment where innovation and collaboration are at the forefront. As a finalist for the Excellence in Education Award, Kinsale Community School is proud to align itself with this forward-thinking alliance.

Our journey to becoming a finalist for the Excellence in Education Award would not have been possible without the hard work and dedication of our educators, students, and the broader community. We're excited to continue pushing the boundaries of technology education and providing our students with opportunities to excel in this ever-evolving field.

We extend our gratitude to Tech Industry Alliance for recognizing our efforts, and we eagerly await the announcement of the award winners. This nomination serves as a motivating force for us to continue nurturing a new generation of tech leaders, innovators, and problem-solvers.
