Green Schools Water Ambassador Workshop
On the 15th of March Lilian Gleave, Sophie Peare and Momo Sheehy along with Ms. Fitzpatrick travelled down to the Hibernian Hotel Mallow for a Water Ambassadors Workshop with other schools from the southern region. A big congratulations to Sophie and Lilian who were both awarded €20 one for all vouchers for having the best progress reports in the region. The progress report involved each ambassador filling out what they had done so far, their future actions and what areas need to be worked on and why.
To start the day sustainable goodie bags with organic cotton hoodies, reusable water bottles and much more were given out. Then students from different schools participated in ice breaker activities and got to know one another. Time flew as plans for the future were discussed. Following the delicious lunch, Linda McKenny spoke about design thinking, press releases and effective communication. This was a great day for everyone involved. As Linda McKenny said "communication is central to how we live", so what was learned will be a valuable tool going forward not only in Green Schools but in life for the students involved.
This was the second Water Ambassador Workshop this year so far, these sessions are really beneficial for the Green Schools students to gain ideas on how they can take action to conserve water in our school. They had lots of opportunity to brainstorm ideas with each other and other schools today which will help them to take action in our school and conserve water one drop at a time.
The long term goal for the Green Schools Team is to achieve the Green Schools Flag for the Water theme which they will apply for next year. Well done to all involved and best of luck with your future actions!
