College Awareness Week

As part of College Awareness week, senior students were given the opportunity to attend Cork Training Centre to the Apprenticeships Open Day. This was a great opportunity as it hasn't been run for the last few years with Covid. The students got given a lengthy tour of the workshops and get information from the lecturers plus see current students doing their work. Students got to see metal fabrication, plumbing, carpentry, pipe fitting, electrical, brick laying and motor and heavy vehicles workshops plus get to talk to employers who take on apprentices to find out even more information. It was a great day with lots of insights into the great opportunities that Apprenticeships offer.

To finish off College Awareness Week, we had Sandra from UCC give a presentation to our sixth year students about all what UCC has on offer. From the wide range of courses, to getting involved in sports and societies, scholarships and work placements. Sandra also highlighted open days, online Q&A sessions, all to help students make the most informed decisions for their CAO applications.
