Y6 Student Cast Member of Opera House Pantomime 2021
Best wishes to Kaitlynn Compagno Y6 who is performing in ‘Nanny Nellie’s Adventures in Pantoland’ in Cork Opera House over the Christmas period. Kaitlynn auditioned for the Cork Opera House Pantomime at the start of November. All auditions were self-taped due to covid, compared to past years where auditions would have been in-person with the head choreographer and director. Within a week (which felt like a lifetime to Kaitlynn) she finally got the email to say she was successful in her audition. It was a quick process, and by the following week she was straight into rehearsals. Less than a month later and opening night took place last Friday. Kaitlynn says her favourite thing about performing in the Pantomime would have to be the kids faces lighting up when they see all the magic come alive on stage, which wouldn’t be possible without such an amazing cast and crew. She says it makes the long hours of choreography, singing and tech rehearsals worth it. Kaitlynn has balanced school and her studies along with preparation for the show admiringly over the last few weeks. We wish her & the cast well over the coming week. Keep an eye out for her on stage if you are lucky enough to attend the show
