Leaving Cert Applied Open Days

Pictured are our fifth and sixth year Leaving Certificate Applied students and also some photos of our students attending PLC Colleges Open Day in March.

On Tuesday March 3rd 2020 the fifth year LCA class, together with their teacher, Ms C Leahy & LCA Co-ordinator Ms A Kelly, attended the college open day of St. John's, College of Commerce and CSN. The day was a huge success. Students learned about the various courses available to them, they had the opportunity to chat with lecturers and students attending the colleges and they experienced the vibrant atmosphere of the colleges' campus.

Students were also able to apply to attend a course shadowing day in CSN to obtain more knowledge of a particular area. This opportunity, which students thoroughly enjoyed and benefited from, gave them a great insight into their course of interest.

Through the LCA module of Vocational Preparation, students are furnished with the skills required for college life as well as the world of work. They complete five weeks of work experience throughout the two years of LCA and partake in many formal interviews which assist our students in successfully securing college places, often, before sitting their final exams.
