Kinsale CoderDojo

We were delighted to learn from Marcas Worth, Mentor with Kinsale CoderDojo that a team of KCS pupils have been put forward to the European Space Agency to write code to be run on the International Space Station .

This week the code written, created and developed by the participants was uploaded to the space station to begin running their experiment by the astronauts on the station. This is a huge achievement as the team was chosen out of all the Dojos in Ireland and the UK to be in the seven teams to get to this stage.

The Microsoft Hub at Kinsale Community School has been essential to Kinsale CoderDojo in allowing the participants to be so creative and collaborative.

The team is made up of pupils exclusively from first and second year at Kinsale Community School: Jake Grace, Ian Cullinane, Ronan Hawkins, Mark Donegan, Sean Finnegan and Tessa Worth.

Congratulations and best of luck to all involved!
