Spooky Treats in V Prep

Our LCA class decided to set up a mini company for our Vocational Preparation Enterprise task to produce and manufacture Halloween trick or treat sweet bundles. Due to Covid 19 restrictions and to ensure the safety of staff and students we put the bundles together in a safe and sanitized environment. In line with covid guidelines as there was no trick or treating permitted, it was agreed it would be a great idea to maintain the Halloween spirt and a win for us and a win for the school to distribute the bundles and make a profit too!

In order for the above to happen a lot of backstage research, interviews, screening, phone calls and follow up needed to take place. This consisted of suppliers (Musgraves, DEALZ, Amazon) being chosen as they already have an established place in the market and the best price as we were able to source large quantities of bags and sweets at a good rate. Our roles were chosen through an interview process. (CEO, Finance Manager, Production Manager, Safety Officer, ICT specialist, Secretary, Coordinators) Each of us invested 10 euro in the company bank to help cover set up cost expecting a return on our investment. This entire process took many weeks of educated discussions and debate.

The outcome was highly successful as both as those who purchased the bundles were happy and the investors were equally happy. This entire set up exposed all of the LCA students as excellent leaders in both teamwork comradery and hopefully taught them some good life skills.
