Rob Heffernan Rebel Mile

Kinsale Community School were proud to welcome Rob Heffernan (Race Walker, World Champion Gold Medalist and Olympic Bronze Medalist) and Breige Corkery (Cork GAA Star, 18 Senior All Ireland Medalist and 16 All Star Awards Winner) on Wednesday 8th May to celebrate the Rob Heffernan Rebel Mile to raise funds for the Irish Heart Foundation.

The event began with an unveiling of a plaque in celebration of our special guests who then spoke to our students about the importance of exercise and well being. Afterwards all students and staff stretched their legs and completed a mile around our new running track.

In celebration of the sporting achievements of students at KCS, sixth year students Conor O’Callaghan and Darragh Crowley also unveiled a plaque on the School Sports Wall of Fame in recognition of their sporting achievements in Table Tennis and Soccer respectively. Congratulations Conor and Darragh!
