Air Quality Investigation

We are one of only 34 schools in the country taking part in the first Air Quality Investigation in Ireland. The study involves comparing air quality and pollution levels in areas of high traffic volumes to areas with light traffic. The data we gather will be sent back to GLOBE, an environmental organisation collecting data through schools in 121 countries worldwide. GLOBE are supported and assisted in their work by An Taisce. 

This is valuable research, as caring for our environment becomes increasingly important. The students of 1A6 are discovering fantastic cross curricular links between Geography and Science and it will be of great benefit to them as students, as well as the wider community. A great example of collaboration and STE(A)M been incorporated at KCS.
