Junk Kouture 2018

Junk Kouture is a national contest which encourages young designers in second level education to create striking couture designs and impressive works of wearable art from everyday junk that would normally find its way into the bin.

A class of 30 Transition Years have been working hard on their designs since the beginning of the school year.  Within this class students have been divided into teams.

Various materials are being used from leaves, coffee pods, playing cards and newspaper.  The students work on their designs at home, during a double class once a week and after school with the help of Ms. Kelly.  Photographed above are some of the designs entered in this years competition this month.
