U16 Hurling County Championship

KCS were playing Colaiste Choilm in the U16 county championship on Tuesday 6th December. Kinsale were up against a strong Colaiste Choilm opposition. KCS trailed by 2 goals and a point before Ronan Sheehan opened Kinsale’s scoring from a free. Leo Hennessy got the second score with a great strike on the run. KCS were coming back into the game with 2 more points from Eoghan O'Shea and another free from Ronan Sheehan. Kinsale suffered a blow as Colaiste Choilm went on a rampage scoring 2 goals and 3 points in quick succession. Shortly before the half time whistle, they got another point. In the last play of the first half, Eoghan O'Shea pulled another point back to leave Kinsale trailing 4-5 to 5 points at half time.

KCS started the second half very strongly by scoring 3 quick points. This followed by 2 points from each side with our 2 coming from Eoghan O'Shea and Ronan Sheehan. This was followed by another score by Leo Hennessy to make it two in a row for Kinsale. Strong performances from the backs from Conor Looney, Jack Harrington and Darragh Winters were keeping the opposition score down. Ballincollig hit another point. The comeback was really on when Dean Cosgrove scored a goal, but Kinsale couldn’t push on from the goal. Ballincollig hit two more points and Kinsale concluding the scoring with two points from Ronan Sheehan. Full time score 4-11 to 1-14 in Colaiste Choilm's favour.
