Senior Camogie Munster League Final Success
In a highly anticipated camogie match between Kinsale Community School and Scoil Pol Kilfinane, it was Kinsale who emerged victorious with a final score of 4-13 to 1-9.
The match, which took place on a cold and cloudy afternoon, despite the weather a massive group of enthusiastic supporters from both sides showed their dedication to both teams . From the first whistle, it was clear that both teams were determined to win, with Kinsale quickly taking the lead thanks to some impressive play from their captain, Orlagh O'Mahony. O'Mahony opened the game with a quick point followed by a goal a few minutes later, setting Kinsale up with a strong start.
Scoil Pol Kilfinane, however, were not willing to go down without a fight putting Kinsale’s defence under a lot of pressure. Despite the defences great display of skill and strength, Scoil Pol Kilfinane rallied to score some impressive points of their own. Kinsale’s goalie Hannah Ganley made amazing saves with the help of her defenders. The back line stayed strong throughout the match letting very little through. The game remained closely contested throughout, with Kinsale ultimately pulling ahead in the second half to secure their win.
Caoimhe Horgan was another standout player for Kinsale, with impressive free taking and a display of some unreal points. Despite their great plays they had massive help form their fellow teammates in the forward line and the defensive line.
As the final whistle blew, the Kinsale supporters erupted in cheers, with the team huddled together in celebration on the field. Speaking after the match, Kinsale captain Orlagh O'Mahony praised her team's hard work and dedication.
