Navigating Leadership and Resilience: An Evening with Marie Gleeson and Professor Keelin O’Donoghue

Kinsale & District Lions Club is proud to announce a captivating evening of leadership, resilience, and inspiration as part of their 2025 Information Series. On February 20th, attendees will have the opportunity to hear from Marie Gleeson, former Captain in the Irish Navy and renowned motivational speaker, and Professor Keelin O’Donoghue, Consultant Obstetrician and Senior Lecturer at CUMH and UCC.

Marie Gleeson draws on her extensive 20-year military career, during which she rose from naval cadet to Captain of the LE AOIFE, to inspire audiences with her exceptional leadership insights. Operating in the challenging waters of the Atlantic Ocean, she faced high-pressure situations, including combating international drug trafficking and enduring the profound loss of a colleague at sea. These experiences have shaped her unique perspective on decision-making, resilience, and teamwork in demanding environments.

In addition to Marie’s keynote address, Professor Keelin O’Donoghue, Consultant Obstetrician and Senior Lecturer at CUMH and UCC, will join as a guest speaker. Prof. O’Donoghue will explore the concept of resilience in her discussion, offering an enriching perspective that promises to spark meaningful dialogue and community engagement.

This charity event will support UCC's Pregnancy Loss Research Group, which is dedicated to advancing understanding and care for pregnancy and infant loss.
