KCS Alumni Spotlight: Nic Cargin and Cian Hamilton of Lost Studios
Kinsale Community School was thrilled to welcome back past pupils Nic Cargin and Cian Hamilton, who graduated in 2010, for an inspiring conversation with their former teacher, Diarmaid O'Donovan. Now the proud co-founders of the successful video production company Lost Studios, the duo shared their journey since leaving KCS and how their time at the school helped shape their future careers.
After spending a decade in Dublin studying and working, Nic and Cian made the decision to return to their roots in Kinsale, establishing Lost Studios right here in their hometown. Their company has already made waves, working with some of the biggest names in the food and beverage industries, popular social media influencers, and even local authorities. Renowned for their innovation and quality, Lost Studios is quickly building a reputation as a leader in video production.
During their interview, the two shared anecdotes from their school days at KCS, including fond memories, life lessons, and the friendships that shaped them. They also gave valuable advice to current students, emphasizing the importance of following your passion, taking risks, and staying adaptable in the ever-evolving world of business and media.
The conversation also took some unexpected turns, with Nic and Cian talking about adventures motorbiking through Africa, the challenges of setting up a business during the pandemic, and a fun experience of one of them playing the iconic Irish snack mascot, Mr. Tayto!
Their journey has truly come full circle, and their success story is a testament to the power of determination and creativity. The full interview, filled with inspiration and humour, is available on the Alumni page of the KCS website and can also be streamed on Spotify.
