Kinsale Community School U17 Hurlers Face Blackwater Lismore in Nail Biting Final

In a thrilling U17 Munster B Final hurling clash at Páirc Uí Chaoimh on 7th December last, Kinsale Community School faced off against a strong Blackwater Lismore. The teams battled fiercely, with Blackwater Lismore ultimately emerging victorious with a scoreline of 1.20 to Kinsale's 1.17 points.

 

Kinsale faced a challenging task in the first half as they played against a formidable breeze. Despite the adverse conditions, the team showcased resilience and determination, keeping the contest competitive but a last-minute penalty in the first half saw Kinsale go in 5 points down at half time. The first half saw both sides engage in intense exchanges, laying the groundwork for an exciting second half.

 

The second half witnessed an excellent fight back from Kinsale, with standout performances from key players. Eoghan O'Shea, Darragh Winters, Dean Cosgrave, and Rory O'Brien delivered exceptional displays, showcasing their skills and determination on the field. The team's spirited efforts and cohesive play allowed them to claw their way back into the match.

 

However, despite their commendable comeback, Kinsale fell just short of overturning the deficit. Blackwater Lismore's early advantage proved crucial, and they managed to hold onto their lead until the final whistle.

 

Despite the disappointment, Kinsale Community School's young team demonstrated great promise and potential. The focus now shifts to the future, with the team setting their sights on returning even stronger. The experience gained from this final will undoubtedly serve as valuable lessons, and with determination and dedication, Kinsale aims to make another push for the Munster final next year.
