A Bountiful Adventure: Rang Realta's Visit to Gort na Nain Farm
Rang Realta, accompanied by their dedicated teacher, Ms. Prendergast, recently embarked on a memorable excursion to Gort na Nain Farm in Nohoval County Cork. This journey provided students with a unique opportunity to connect with nature and relish the joy of harvesting fresh produce. The day was filled with hands-on activities, educational revelations, and a newfound appreciation for the dedication behind putting food on our tables.
Upon arriving at Gort na Nain Farm, the students were greeted by Ultan Walsh and Lucy Stewart, the passionate farmers who oversee the Atlantic-facing sloped site. A vast expanse of vibrant green fields stretched out, creating an awe-inspiring backdrop. The students and their teacher, Ms. Prendergast, were welcomed warmly, setting the tone for an enriching day.
Under the guidance of Ultan, Lucy, and Ms. Prendergast, the students ventured into the fields, eager to embark on their harvesting adventure. Carefully selecting a diverse array of fresh vegetables, including beetroots, corn, and courgettes, they embraced the opportunity to actively participate in the farm's activities.
The day was brimming with laughter, learning, and a sense of accomplishment as students filled their hands with fresh produce. This immersive experience provided students with a firsthand understanding of the effort and care that goes into growing and harvesting the food we enjoy.
A heartfelt thanks to Ms. Prendergast, Ultan, and Lucy for facilitating this exciting opportunity.
