The Green Schools is a programme run by An Taisce, Green-Schools is Ireland’s leading environmental management and education programme for schools. KCS was awarded a Green Flag for Recycling and Litter in 2021. We are currently working on achieving our flag for Water Conservation. We will be applying for this flag at the end of this year. Our Green Schools Committee are a mixture of students from first to sixth year. Students are provided with a specific role depending on their strengths, interests and skills. The Green Schools Committee meet on a weekly basis to discuss future actions, activities and ideas on how to raise awareness around our community about how to conserve water.  

Currently, the Green Schools Committee are planning a Walk to School Day on the 21st of September as part of Green Schools Ireland initiative; Walk to School Week which is taking place this week from the 19th-23rd of September.
