On 29th April and 6th May, KCS Rowing Team took to the water at Shandon Boat Club.

This team has been practicing and tweaking their rowing technique on the rowing machines in the school gym since September, so it was time to put all they have learned to good use on the water.

On each day, 20 students travelled to The Marina in Cork where they received the best of coaching from 3 international athletes, along with coaching from Ms. Kovacs who is herself an experienced oarswoman!

April 29th was a lovely sunny day, with perfect rowing conditions making the first outing very pleasant. May 6th was a little more testing with wet weather and a strong current in the river. However, all the students embraced the challenges of the day and made the most of the experience without complaint. These trips were a huge success and thoroughly enjoyed by all!
