The literacy enrichment programme for first year students began in January and ran for a total of 6 weeks. Each week a group of determined students met for one hour after school on a Wednesday to work on their literacy skills in an informal and fun setting. Everything from interviewing their favourite celebrities to TikTok videos was on the cards and I think students were surprised as to how often they come across literacy in everyday life.

Overall, the benefit to students was huge, each week I could not only see their literacy skills improving but also their confidence which I hope will stand to them throughout their school years and beyond. Well done to all the hardworking, dedicated students who participated in this programme.
