On Tuesday 12 March, Jacqui O'Riordan from UCC came to KCS to inform 5th and 6th year students interested in childcare all about the course.  The presentation went through the 3 schools (departments) that involved in the degree: social science, education and psychology.  There is placement for the first half of second and third year where students get to put into practice the theory that they have learned to date.  The students also found out the different pathways that students went after qualifying and they also got to ask Jacqui their own questions they had.  

This presentation was the first of another set of guest speakers coming to the school to help senior cycle students with their decisions for life after KCS.  Next Wednesday Mar 20th Caroline Kearney is coming from CIT to give a general overview of all that CIT has on offer and how it is moving to university status in September.  It is merging with IT Tralee to become Munster Technological University.
