Ladies Football
The Senior Ladies football team travelled to Clonakilty on Thurs 14th March to play Skibbereen CS in the County championship. This was a repeat of the Munster round-robin fixture between the two teams, played last Nov. There were many other similarities in this weeks encounter - the weather, the high scoring and entertaining game of football, and unfortunately for our girls, the result. Despite a fantastic display from all the girls, they came out second best on a scoreline of 6-11 to 6-6.
This game marked the end of the road for our 6th year players: Saoirse McCarthy-Walsh, Juliette Cronin, Jenny Murphy & Deirdre O Reilly. These girls have given many years of service to Ladies Football in KCS and had no hesitation in togging out in their Leaving Cert year. As a small token of their dedication, the girls who have played for all 6 years were presented with some KCS GAA gear. We thank them for their enthusiastic and skilful contribution to Ladies football in KCS and wish them the very best in their studies and upcoming exams.
