At the conclusion of the league phase of the 2018-19 Concern Debates, Kinsale Community School emerged with the highest points in a fiercely competitive West Cork section. Kinsale Community School had one unanimous victory (3 points) and three majority decisions ( 2 points each), thus achieving 9 points out of a maximum 12. The team was placed 26th nationwide,  narrowly failing to progress to the knockout stages.  

The team was one of only 12 schools nationwide to remain undefeated for the duration of the league. Overall, 134 schools participated in this annual competition. The team, consisting of Emily Smith, Emily Gleave, Cliodhna Doyle, Freya Helburst and Madi Hayes, debated diverse issues such as: climate change, HIV/Aids and the effectiveness of the United Nations. They defeated: Mount St Michael's S.S, Rosscarberry, Sacret Heart S.S., Clonakilty, Bandon Grammar School and De La Salle, Macroom.  It was an educational and enjoyable experience for all involved. 

The final standings in the West Cork section were as follows:

Kinsale Community School 9 points

Bandon Grammar School 6 points

Mount St Michael's S.S. 6 points

Sacred Heart S.S. 5 points

De La Salle, 4 points
