CSPE Action Project
As part of their CSPE Action Project the students of 2A6 held a book sale within their class that was aimed at raising money for the RNLI station in Kinsale. Each student sold and bought a book in the class which raised a €120 for the RNLI station. On Wednesday 16th of May, all 21 students walked to the RNLI station. On arrival we were met by two RNLI volunteers, Kevin and Jonathan. They began by describing how the RNLI worked and then described how all the equipment that the volunteers wear and the equipment on the boat work. The students were fascinated by the great work that the volunteers do and realised the valuable service that it provides for Kinsale community. Before we returned for the school, the students presented Kevin and Jonathan with a Thank You card, a box of chocolates and the €120 donation. This will go towards maintaining the equipment for each volunteer and the day to day running of the station.
